Service Updates

We appreciate that many of you will be concerned about current and future waste collection services, and may be anticipating the need to alter your contracted services with us. Therefore we have setup service priorities in order to help those who require waste collection during the crisis, and to help all of our customers better understand our approach.

During this time we only have a skeleton staff of 3 individuals trying their best to keep vital services running with limited finances.

Like many of our customers, we too are an SME looking for the right way to deal with the current crisis. We are doing our best to deal with these unprecedented conditions and answer all of your requests while continuing waste collections for those who need them.

  1. PPE and Safe Working Practices – Obviously, our first and foremost duty is to the safety of our Staff, especially frontline collection staff, and Customers, enabling the safe collection of waste where collections must continue.
  2. To ensure that those sectors that must receive a waste collection service, to continue to help us all, such as Nursing homes, GP surgeries, Chemists and Supermarkets etc., do so.
  3. Rescheduling services, standing down what assets we can and calculating any possible reductions in overheads, in order to ensure that we can continue to deliver services to those key sectors in need, and calculate what we can also offer loyal customers during this period and when.
  4. Re-evaluating and amending revised schedules in accordance with need – some customers require more services, some the same, some less and others would prefer none at all, without regard to standing costs, however, notwithstanding the large volume of requests, most customers have not communicated anything at all.
  5. Working through the backlog of customer requests made up to the 31st of March to see what we can do, relative to any reasonable customer requests.
  6. Having already undertaken to be “as fair as possible” with our customers in the weeks ahead, and post revision of the necessary asset requirements and overhead commitments, formulate a blanket policy for all loyal customers, as much as possible.
  7. Keep customer communications going via Web and Social Media accounts, which are administered by third parties so not to take away from the services and support our limited, skeleton staff are doing.

We appreciate this is a stressful time for everyone, therefore we ask for your patience when contacting us with service changes and requests. Our small team of staff are prioritising the 7 points outlined above over the coming days and weeks, and by working together we can continue to provide waste collection services now and into the future.

As a key industry, our immediate priority is to keep services going for those services that WE ALL NEED to have continued access to, such as The NHS, Supermarkets, Nursing Homes, GP Surgeries, Chemists and Petrol Stations etc.  It’s not readily thought of, but without supplies like vital waste services, all of these providers wouldn’t, or at least would greatly struggle, to keep going.  We are also trying to greatly assist our Local Authorities in their time of greatest need with the overload of domestic waste collections that closing the Schools and the policy of “Lockdown” creates, by putting our fleet and collections staff onto domestic collections, for the greater benefit of all.

Please appreciate that many of our back-office systems are completely automated and without the time and available staff to administrate them, there is little we can do with regard to those automatic processes whilst ensuring vital collections continue.  Turning them all off simply isn’t an option either, as there are still vital services for which we have to provide collections and yet even within those groups, there are voluntary closures.

PLEASE BE ASSURED THAT WE WILL BE NOTHING BUT FAIR WITH YOU, OUR CUSTOMERS, AND HELP YOU WHEREVER WE CAN IN THE WEEKS AHEAD, BUT THESE ISSUES ARE SOMETHING WE WILL ALL HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO RESOLVE IN THE WEEKS TO COME, WHEN HOPEFULLY THIS DISASTER WE ARE ALL IN TOGETHER, IS BEHIND US.  WE APPRECIATE IT IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY STRESSFUL TIME FOR ALL CONCERNED AND IT’S EASY TO “KICK THE BIN MAN”, BUT WE WOULD URGE YOU TO BE PATIENT IN YOUR APPROACH AND PROVIDE US THE SPACE TO ENSURE THAT THOSE WHO MUST GET SERVICES, DO SO!

Keep Safe, Keep Your Distance, Keep Healthy.
